Concertbezoekers kijken verwonderd toe terwijl het trio uit Manchester volledig akoestisch geluiden benadert uit de triphop en dance. De genre-ontstijgende klanken van Chris Illingworth, Nick Blacka en Rob Turner beginnen een steeds breder publiek te betoveren.
Hun tweede album v2.0 leverde in 2014 een Mercury Prize-nominatie op, een platendeal bij Blue Note, en een lange reeks optredens die onder meer voerde langs het Londense Barbican Centre en Gilles Petersons Worldwide Festival.
Hun eerste release op het legendarische Blue Note label, het dit jaar verschenen Man Made Object, werd onder meer in The Wall Street Journal geprezen om z’n lef en energie. “We recreëren elektronische muziek op akoestische instrumenten”, verklaart Illingworth de albumtitel.
