Summer in Greece. A family of three – single father Babis and his teenage twins Konstantinos and Elsa – set sail for the island of Poros for their holiday.
It’s a typical family getaway, filled with sunshine, the sea, barbecues, new friendships, the occasional boredom, and inevitable annoyances. What Konstantinos and Elsa don’t realize is that they’ve unknowingly crossed paths with their mother, who abandoned them shortly after birth. While the twins are intrigued by this eccentric woman, the encounter reopens old wounds for Babis.
Kuyka Before Summer’s End is a sun-drenched, bittersweet, humorous, and edgy coming-of-age story from debut director Kostis Charamountanis. The film is a tribute to the summers he spent sailing as a child.
