De kalligrafie kunstenares LANKA is geboren in Hokkaido. Ze volgde na schooltijd Shuji-lessen (習字) vanaf haar zevende, maar stopte ermee op dertienjarige leeftijd. LANKA begon in 2012 met Shodo aan het Japanse Kalligrafie Instituut in Tokio. Na zes jaar studie behaalde ze in 2018 haar 師範/masterdiploma.
Sinds haar komst naar Nederland in 2018 is LANKA begonnen met het geven van lessen en workshops op verschillende locaties. Nu werkt Lanka aan haar eigen kunststijl en -uitingen binnen de Japanse kalligrafie via opdrachten en dagelijkse producties.

The calligraphy artist LANKA was born in Hokkaido. She took shūji (習字) lessons after school when she was seven, but stopped at thirteen. In 2012, LANKA started to learn Shodo at the Japanese Calligraphy Institute in Tokyo. After six years of study, she obtained her shihan (師範) calligraphy master diploma in 2018.
When LANKA came to the Netherlands in 2018, she started to give lessons and workshops at different venues. Lanka is now pursuing her own art style and expression within Japanese calligraphy through commissions and daily productions.
