Zo ver als de horizon rijkt zien we water. Ooit waren hier dorpen, velden en mensen, nu lijkt dit een apocalyptische visie op een overstroomde toekomst. Black Water laat echter zien dat klimaatcrisis niet iets van later, maar van nu is.
We zijn in Bangladesh en volgen Lokhi, een pragmatische vrouw die na kansloze gevechten tegen het stijgende water besluit met haar gezin naar Dhaka te verhuizen. Regisseurs Lucia Benito en Carmen Ruiz deTemiño Garcia volgen haar aankomst in de snelstgroeiende stad ter wereld, waar dagelijks duizendenklimaatvluchtelingen arriveren.
