Aspirantes vertelt het verhaal van Junior die, samen met zijn beste vriend Bento, fanatiek voetbalt. Ze dromen ervan professionals te worden en geven hier alles voor. Als Junior hoort dat zijn vriendin zwanger is én Bento een contract krijgt aangeboden bij een professionele club, voelt hij zich verscheurd. Het lukt hem niet beide rollen te vervullen. De frustratie groeit, wat leidt tot grote ontevredenheid. Een knappe film over adolescentie en de dilemma’s die daarbij komen kijken.
Aspirantes tells the story of Junior, who is a fanatic soccer player like his best friend Bento. They dream of becoming professionals and are very committed. When Junior finds out his girlfriend is pregnant and Bento is being offered a contract with a professional club, he feels painfully divided. He doesn’t seem to be able to play both parts. The frustration and dissatisfaction grows. A successful film about adolescence and the dilemmas that go with growing up.
