Een visuele traktatie, waar menig architect zijn/haar hart aan kan ophalen. Kleinzoon Thiago gaat op zoek naar de geschiedenis van zijn grootvader Sergio Bernardes, een van de beroemde modernistische Braziliaanse architecten.
‘Architecture is not supposed to be completed, they’re supposed to be lived’. Bernardes was een vrije visionair maar vatte die vrijheid op dat hij ook zonder dralen kon werken voor de militaire dictatuur in de zeventiger jaren.
De zoektocht naar zijn motieven blijft wat onbevredigend, maar een bijzondere man is het zeker geweest. In de speelfilm Reaching for the moon (Flores Rares) speelt Casa Fern van Bernardes een hoofdrol.
