Concrete Stories
Het betonpaneel is zowel een kapitalistische uitvinding als een symbool van de Sovjetunie en daarmee verbindt het bewoners in Oost- en West-Europa. De film vertelt de geschiedenis van betonbouw en de verhalen van de mensen die in sociale hoogbouw wonen in Frankrijk, Duitsland en Tsjechië.
Bijzonder is het gebruik van prachtige en waardevolle archieffilms, aangevuld met intieme interviews met bewoners. Een fijne gluren bij de buren film, afwisselend en steeds weer verrassend.

Een combinatie van meer dan 5.000 foto’s geschoten vanaf de top van de Cromwell toren van het Barbican Estate met special hiervoor gecomponeerde muziek van Tom Rosenthal en poëzie van Paul Haworth.

The concrete panel is both a capitalist invention and a symbol of the Soviet Union, and thus links the people of Eastern and Western Europe. This film tells the history of concrete construction and the stories of people who live in high-rise social housing in France, Germany and the Czech Republic.
A noteworthy feature is the use of wonderful and valuable archival films, which are complemented by intimate interviews with residents. A fine ‘peeking at the neighbours’ film, varied and full of surprises throughout.
