Fighting for Peace
Rio de Janeiro maakt zich op voor de Olympische Spelen (2016). Tegen deze achtergrond, in een van de meest gewelddadige favelas van Rio volgen we de jonge boksers Sugar (15) en Douglas (14). Dagelijks worden ze met de rauwe realiteit van armoede en drugs geconfronteerd en vechten ze letterlijk voor een betere toekomst. Nationaal bokskampioen willen ze worden, met als hoger doel hun familie onderhouden. Een harde werkelijkheid die op innemende en liefdevolle wijze wordt getoond.

Against the backdrop of Rio the Janeiro getting ready for the Olympic Games (2016), we follow the young boxers Sugar (15) and Douglas (14). Living in one of the most violent favelas of Rio, these boys are confronted with the raw reality of poverty and drugs on a daily basis and are literally fighting for a better future. Their goal is to become national boxing champions and with that being able to take care of their families. This intense situation is shown in an engaging and loving way.
