Gebaseerd op Van der Laans eigen mathematische principes met een ritmische ruimtelijke ordening en van een imponerende schoonheid. De film volgt het dagelijkse bestaan van de laatste zusters van de abdij in perfecte harmonie met de eenvoud van de architectuur.
Hans van der Laan, Benedictine monk and architect, designed the Roosenburg Abbey in the Belgian town of Waasmunster in 1972. The abbey was based on Van der Laan’s own mathematical principles, using rhythmical structures of spatial planning and incorporating an imposing beauty. The film follows the day-to-day lives of the last remaining sisters in the Abbey, living in perfect harmony with the simplicity of the architecture.
