Jaarlijks worden er een miljoen betonnen heipalen de bodem ingeslagen. Ze hebben de eeuwenoude traditie van sparrenstammen als fundering voor gebouwen in de Nederlandse delta volledig vervangen. Nu de bouwindustrie steeds meer onder druk komt te staan om rekening te houden met het milieu, opent deze oude traditie nieuwe mogelijkheden.
