Prijswinnende architect Alexandre Schmidt bestudeert barokke architectuur. Hij associeert zich met de rationale architect Juan Lorenzo Bernini maar wil graag de mystiek van Francesco Borromini ontdekken. Hij gaat op reis naar Italië langs het prachtige barokke werk van Borromini.
De film toont de strijd tussen verstand en gevoel en doet dat stijlvol en met de nodige bijzondere dialogen, vooral ook over architectuur. Vreemd en prachtig tegelijk.
