Last Exit Alexanderplatz
In 1993 werd een ontwerpcompetitie uitgeschreven voor de Berlijnse Alexanderplatz. Deze werd gewonnen door Hans Kollhoff met een voorstel voor een klein Manhattan, waarna de discussies losbarstten. Het masterplan ligt nu ruim 20 jaar werkloos in de kast.
De film blikt terug op het proces met archiefbeelden en through interviews with politicians such as Hans Stimmann and Volker Hassemer, and architects and planners such as Daniel Libeskind and Hans Kollhoff. The film depicts the difficulties, but also potentials that accompany architecture and city planning in transitional phases.
