In this colourful music documentary, Bebo Valdés, the great 85-year-old Cuban musician travels to Candeal in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil where African music and religion have been preserved in their purest form. Candeal is a special community without drugs and firearms where musicians from all over the world are drawn to the drums. Using music to drive these initiatives, Candeal’s inhabitants have regained their self-esteem and the hope that a better world is possible.
