Camp commander Rudolf Höss (Christian Friedel) lives with his family in a beautiful, spacious official residence with a large garden that abuts the wall of Auschwitz. His wife Hedwig (Sandra Hüller, Anatomy of a Fall) feels like a queen. In this environment, she creates a paradise for her family, and she is determined not to let it be taken away from her.
The Zone of Interest was awarded the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival and is the UK’s Oscar submission for Best International Film. Glazer loosely based it on the eponymous book by Martin Amis.
