In a Romanian village, Dragoi, a devout family man, owes a significant debt to local gangster Zentov. When his 17-year-old son Adi is brutally attacked, Dragoi assumes it’s a warning to settle his debt. But he soon uncovers a far more painful truth: Adi wasn’t targeted because of his father’s financial troubles, but because of his sexual orientation.

What begins as a father’s attempt to protect his son spirals into a battle against a corrupt system determined to cover up the crime. As the community turns its back on them, Dragoi is forced to confront both his own beliefs and the deep-seated prejudice in the village. Meanwhile, Adi wrestles with the pain of betrayal—by his attackers, and by a society that refuses to accept him. Beneath the village’s quiet surface lies an undercurrent of violence, hypocrisy, and fear.

Three Kilometers to the End of the World is a gripping drama that exposes the aftermath of a homophobic hate crime and the forces bent on suppressing the truth. It’s a powerful story about the cost of silence and the courage it takes to demand justice in a world that looks the other way.
