Nu er een vastgoedmagnaat in het Witte Huis zit, is het de hoogte tijd om te onderzoekenwat hem ‘gecreëerd’ heeft: een systeem van diefstal gemaakt voor eigenaars enontwikkelaars. Slumlord Millionaire is een verhaal over onrecht in de (sociale) woningbouw in New York, en hoe machteloos het rechtssysteem daartegen kan zijn. Maar het is ook eenfilm over het gemeenschapsactivisme dat hiertegen ontstaat, verteld vanuit het perspectief van drie slimme, assertieve vrouwen van kleur.
