In late summer Oslo, a warm, humorous, and touching drama unfolds about the boundaries and possibilities of love.
Colleagues Marianne, a pragmatic doctor, and Tor, an empathetic nurse, have both chosen to avoid traditional relationships. When they unexpectedly meet on a ferry—where Tor often seeks spontaneous encounters and intimate conversations with other men—Marianne begins to question her own notions of intimacy and love.
Norwegian director Dag Johan Haugerud is a screenwriter and director known for his critically acclaimed novels, feature films and short films. The past few years he’s been working on his Sex-Love-Dreams trilogy, three separate films with similar themes. Love is the second film LantarenVenster is showing. The last part, Dreams, won the Golden Bear at the Berlinale 2025 and will be released later this year.
