Mokuhanga workshop
De Japanse grafica MIYOSHI Yuriko introduceert de Moku-hanga techniek, bekend van Ukiyo-e prenten. Iedereen kan met behulp van een van de Ukiyo-e-ontwerpen, zoals Hokusai’s Golf, de drie stappen van de techniek ervaren als E-shi (de kunstenaar/schilder), Hori-shi (de houtsnijder) en Suri-shi (de drukker). Aan het einde van de workshop kan je zowel je Moku-hanga plaat als je prenten op Washi (Japans papier) mee naar huis nemen.
Tip: combineer de workshop met een vertoning van de documentaire Beyond Time and Space with Ukiyo-e.
Japanese printmaker MIYOSHI Yuriko will introduce participants to the moku-hanga technique, well known from ukiyo-e prints. Anyone can experience the three steps of the technique: as e-shi (the artist/painter), hori-shi (the woodcarver) and suri-shi (the printer) using one of ukiyo-e designs such as Hokusai’s Wave. At the end of the workshop, you can take both your moku-hanga plate and prints on washi (Japanese paper) home.
