Café La Perle is located in the working-class district of North Brussels. At random moments the regular guests start a new song together. This shared love for music unites a diverse community. The Tunes pays tribute to café culture and the emotional power of music. The film shows the importance of the café as a social meeting place and the beating heart of a community. In candid interviews with visitors, director Pablo Guarise manages to make visible the close bond with the café. A warm portrait of a social space where life is still vibrant.

‘Faith has taken on a different meaning, and a church must respond to that,’ says the manager of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Brussels. The church, once built to mark the 75th anniversary of Belgium, today offers shelter to a colourful mix of unconventional and unexpected users.
