Flamencodanseres Rocío Molina verkent op spectaculaire wijze de grenzen van dans en beeldende kunst met avant-gardistische choreografieën. Ze treedt wereldwijd op met haar impulsos: deels geïmproviseerde performances op bijzondere plekken, zoals musea voor moderne kunst.
In dit biografische portret volgt de camera haar gedurende de maanden van voorbereiding van haar show Caídadel Cielo, die in 2017 op de Flamenco Biënnale in Nederlandse première ging. Opnamen van repetities en optredens worden afgewisseld met interviewfragmenten met familie, vrienden, collega’s en begeleidende muzikanten.
Over recent years, the young Spanish dancer and choreographer Rocio Molina has become the new shining star of Flamenco and modern dance, using public improvisations called impulsos to create choreographies. After having won the heart of both classical and new audiences, she’s now facing the biggest challenge of her career: the creation of a new show at the Chaillot National Theatre in Paris, highlight of their 2016/2017 season which premiered at our festival in 2017.
