Fluxus centred on diversity and democracy, an approach that was way ahead of its time. Maciunas was more than just a contrary figure in the art world: he created one of the first community workspaces for artists in the wealthy district of SoHo in New York, and he set up a unique utopian community on an uninhabited island in the Caribbean. Featuring spectacular archival footage and interviews with celebrated Fluxus members such as Nam June Paik, Yoko Ono and Jonas Mekas, the film paints a portrait of an unpredictable yet influential rebel, a true visionary.
