De Silk Road Express is een nieuwe treinroute van duizenden kilometers lang, die Georgië zal verbinden met China. Als onderdeel van dit plan wordt een tunnel geboord door een Georgische berg vol sprookjesachtige bergdorpen, kuddes vee en akkers. Terwijl de oude stationschef zich probeert voor te bereiden op het internationale treinverkeer maken de dorpsbewoners zich steeds meer zorgen over de grond die onder hun voeten trilt. Communicatie tussen de culturen verloopt stroever tot de Georgische bergdorpelingen lijnrecht tegenover de Chinese projectmanagers komen te staan. Op onthullende wijze toont A Tunnel van Nino Orjonikidze en Vano Arsenishvili de frictie tussen een traditionele lokale gemeenschap en de onstuitbare vaart van Chinese expansiedrift.
The Silk Road Express is a new railway line stretching for thousands of kilometres from Georgia to China. This project involves drilling a tunnel in Georgia through a mountain covered in fairy-tale villages, herds of cattle and cultivated fields. As the old station master prepares to welcome international rail traffic, villagers become increasingly worried about the ground vibrating beneath their feet. Communication between cultures becomes increasingly difficult until the Georgian villagers find themselves completely at loggerheads with the Chinese project managers. A Tunnel by Nino Orjonikidze and Vano Arsenishvili reveals the friction between a traditional local community and the unstoppable force of Chinese expansionism.

Je krijgt korting op je kaartje met Club Fountainhead / CJP / Studentenpas / Cineville*.
Persoonlijke kortingspassen moeten getoond kunnen worden bij de filmzaal.
