Doel in België is een spookstad die alleen nog maar lijkt te dienen voor vandalisme, high fashion fotoshoots en techno raves. De kleurrijke bewoners hebben echter elk een eigen reden om te blijven. De eigenzinnige film Doel gaat op zoek naar de betekenis van thuis en tradities in een plek waar de geglobaliseerde industrie op de drempel staat. Met humoristische confrontaties en absurde situaties schetst Frederik Sølberg een warm portret van mensen tegen alle verwachtingen doorgaan en de herinneringen die hen staande houden.

But each of the colourful locals has their own reason for remaining. The unconventional film Doel searches for the meaning of home and traditions in a place where the globalized industry is around the corner. With humorous confrontations and absurd situations, Frederik Sølberg paints a warm portrait of people who persevere against all odds and the memories that sustain them.
