On the same day that Lydia’s boyfriend breaks off their fundamental relationship, her best friend Salomé tells her that she is pregnant. From that moment on, a numb Lydia devotes herself completely to her work as a midwife and to caring for her friend. She becomes increasingly absorbed in her own world, until one evening she meets Milos and has a one-night stand. When Lydia unexpectedly encounters him after a while with Salomé’s baby in his arm, she tells him a lie with major consequences.

Le Ravissement is an intriguing, psychological drama about loneliness, emotional relationships and a desperate longing for human contact. Director Iris Kaltenbäck’s feature debut premiered at the Semaine de la Critique in Cannes, was awarded the SACD Award and received international critical acclaim.
