Groot, groter, grootst, zo kan de ontwerpfilosofie van Bruce Mau het best worden omschreven. Hij werkte met Rem Koolhaas jarenlang aan het baanbrekende boek S, M, L, XL. Met MAU maakten Benji en Jono Bergmann de eerste avondvullende documentaire over deze toonaangevende ontwerper. We volgen zijn bliksemcarrière van zijn jeugd in de Canadese wildernis tot aan de oprichting van het Massive Change Network. Of het nu ging om een rebranding van het land Guatemala, radicale veranderingen in het productieproces van Coca-Cola of een masterplan voor de heilige stad Mekka, aan ambitieuze ideeën ontbreekt het bij Mau nooit. Of ze uitvoerbaar zijn is een andere vraag.

Mau is never shy of ambitious ideas, whether it’s for rebranding the country of Guatemala, making radical changes to the production process at Coca-Cola, or devising a master plan for the holy city of Mecca. Whether or not they are feasible is another matter.
