Welcome to the first edition of Queer Cinema! This edition will be hosted by Rotterdam Pride, creating an inclusive and empowering atmosphere. The evening will begin with spoken word by Geoffrey van der Ven, followed by the screening of Pariah. Stick around after the screening to enjoy a free drink while DJ Frandy Perez of MyID is spinning an Amapiano/Afro-house set.

About the film

Pariah is a 2011 drama film about a 17-year-old African American girl named Alike who struggles to come to terms with her sexuality and identity while dealing with her conservative family and society’s expectations.The film deals with complex themes of family dynamics, identity, and acceptance, and offers an intimate and honest portrayal of a young woman’s journey towards self-discovery.

As part of their community events, they are co-organizing Queer Cinema with us to foster connections among the LGBTQIA+ community, with a focus on bringing together marginalized groups such as trans people, people of color, and people with disabilities.
