Als Roger D’Astous in 1952 zijn studie architectuur in Montréal afrondt, besluit hij stage te lopen bij Frank Lloyd Wright in Taliesin. Technisch en intellectueel een buitenkans. Het talent van D’Astous wordt onmiddellijk herkend , maar als Wright aan de jonge architect vraagt voor hem te komen werken weigert hij. Met zijn opgedane kennis keert hij terug naar Quebec, om een van de belangrijkste en meest toonaangevende architecten van de staat te worden.

When Roger D’Astous completed his architecture studies in Montréal in 1952, he decided to take an internship at the office of Frank Lloyd Wright in Taliesin. A golden opportunity for the budding architect, technically and intellectually. The talent of D’Astous was recognized immediately, but when Wright invited the Canadian to come and work for him full time, the latter declined. Instead, he returned to Quebec with the knowledge acquired and became one of the most important and influential architects of the state.
