Op zaterdag 8 oktober wordt de voorstelling voorafgegaan door de korte film Twin Cities Almere (16′), waarin een groep Chinese architecten is geobsedeerd door de Nederlandse new town Almere en in China een exacte kopie willen bouwen.
Best in the World geeft een onthullende kijk achter het fotogenieke plaatje van Kopenhagen. De Deense hoofdstad staat bekend als een van de meest leefbare, inclusieve en creatieve steden ter wereld, maar dat was niet altijd het geval. Dertig jaar geleden verkeerde de voormalige industriestad op het randje van faillissement. Met grootse beleidsplannen en meeslepende architectuur heeft de stad een complete transformatie ondergaan. But this was not always the case. Thirty years ago, Copenhagen was an industrial city on the brink of bankruptcy. Through political and architectural engineering the city has experienced a complete transformation, but at what cost? Today the city is an engine of inequality both within its own borders and in the surrounding countryside. Who ultimately gets to benefit from this desirable new city?
