Strange and Familiar, Architecture on Fogo Island

Todd Saunders keerde terug naar de plek van zijn jeugd, Newfoundland om daar op Fogo Island een hotel en vier studio’s te ontwerpen. Hij liet zich inspireren door de sobere schoonheid van de lokale traditionele architectuur en de interieurs zijn ook door lokale ambachtslieden uitgevoerd. In zulke natuur steekt de strakke architectuur fel af, er zijn ergere plekken om tijdelijk te verblijven.

==Strange and Familiar, Architecture on Fogo Island==
Todd Saunders returns to Newfoundland, where he grew up, to design a hotel and four studios on Fogo Island. He draws inspiration from the sober beauty of local traditional architecture, and local craftsmen are also responsible for the interiors. The clean-lined architecture stands out against the natural surroundings. There are worse places to spend some time.
